Mikolaj Kubs built the ANIMATCH app as a Free app. This SERVICE is provided by Mikolaj Kubs at no cost and is intended for use as is.
Animatch is a puzzle game for the whole family - children play it, and so do adults. This page explains what happens to information when the game is played, and it is written to be read by a parent or guardian as much as by anyone else.
In short
Information Collection and Use
I do not collect personal information. The app works without any of it.
Your progress - unlocked levels, stars, hints, sound and language preferences, and the age answer described below - is stored in the app's own storage on your device. It is never sent to me and I have no way to read it. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its data in Android settings, erases all of it.
The Age Question
On first launch the game asks one neutral question: whether the player is under 13, or 13 or older. The two answers are presented identically - there is no reward for either, and nothing in the wording or the design steers a player toward one of them. The answer is stored on the device and cannot be changed afterwards.
The question exists because the law treats these two groups differently, and because the answer decides which kind of advertising the game is permitted to request. It is not used to identify anyone, and no account or profile is created from it.
Advertising
The app is free to play and is paid for by advertising delivered by Google AdMob (part of Google Mobile Ads). Two kinds of ad appear: an occasional full-screen ad between levels, which can be closed as soon as it appears, and an optional video a player may choose to watch in order to earn extra hints. Watching a video is never required to keep playing.
How those ads are chosen depends on the answer to the age question.
Players under 13. Every ad request this app makes is flagged as coming from a child-directed app, and every ad is capped at a "G" content rating. Ads are contextual - chosen from the app's own content, never from the player's behaviour, interests or any profile of them. The advertising identifier (Android's Ad ID) is not used for these ads. There is no interest-based advertising and no remarketing, and no ad content rated above "G" is requested or shown.
Players 13 or older. Ad requests are not flagged as child-directed, and ads may be personalized using the advertising identifier. Where the law requires consent for that - in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland - the app asks for consent first, using Google's consent system, and no personalized advertising is requested unless consent is given. A player who does not consent, and a player outside those regions who is therefore never asked, receives non-personalized ads.
To deliver any ad over the internet, Google necessarily receives some technical information along with the request - such as the device's IP address, device and operating system details, roughly which region the request came from, and whether an ad was shown. This is the same information any website receives when you visit it, whether or not an ad is personalized. Google's handling of it is governed by Google's own privacy policy, linked below.
Changing or Withdrawing Consent
If you are 13 or older and you were asked for consent, you can change your mind at any time. Open the settings card on the home screen: wherever a consent choice applies, a "Privacy settings" row appears there, and it reopens the consent form so you can update or withdraw your choice.
Analytics and Crash Reports
A player who answered that they are 13 or older is measured, using Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics. This tells me which levels are too hard and which bugs to fix, and it is the only reason the game is measured at all.
A player who answered that they are under 13 is not measured in any way. Firebase is never started for them, so nothing is recorded and nothing is sent - including crash reports. That is a deliberate trade: a crash in the child experience goes unreported to me, because a crash report carries a device identifier and this app does not collect those from children.
Nothing is collected before the age question is answered either, because Firebase is not started until the player answers.
When it does run, the advertising ID is not collected and ad-personalization signals are switched off: this data measures the game and is not used to target advertising. It is tied to an app installation rather than to a person - there are no accounts, and no name or email address is involved.
Children's Privacy
Animatch is made for children as well as for adults, and it is designed so that no personal information from a child is collected at all.
In practice: there is no registration, so a child cannot give me their name or email address; there is no chat, no messaging and no way for a child to send anything to anyone through the app; and for a player who answers that they are under 13, every ad request is child-directed and contextual, as described above.
I follow the United States Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the equivalent protections for children in the European Union, the United Kingdom and elsewhere, including the age-of-consent rules in the GDPR.
If you are a parent or guardian: you may contact me at any time to ask what information relating to your child is held, to ask for it to be deleted, or to refuse any further collection or use of it. Because I hold no personal information and there are no accounts, there will normally be nothing for me to look up or delete - but write to me and I will confirm that and help however I can. If you believe your child has sent personal information to me, please contact me and I will delete it immediately.
Service Providers
The third-party services used by the app are:
These providers are obligated not to use information for any purpose other than the service they perform for this app. The ad service is configured for child-directed, contextual advertising for players under 13, and the analytics and crash-reporting services are not started for them at all.
Security
I value your trust, and I have limited what there is to protect by not collecting personal information in the first place. Progress stored on your device is protected by Android's own app-sandboxing. No method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure or reliable, and I cannot guarantee absolute security.
Links to Other Sites
The app itself contains no links out and no web browser. An advertisement, if tapped, may open the advertiser's page in your device's browser. Those external sites are not operated by me, and I have no control over and assume no responsibility for their content, privacy policies or practices. I advise reviewing the privacy policy of any site you visit.

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. I will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
